GO WEST

A morning visitor

Well finally underway, down to West Wyalong and across the Hay Plains. The first night stop was just outside the township of Hay. The plains stretch in every direction and the night sky formed a dome full of stars. I star gazed for a while. Somehow I lost my glasses and spent a frustrating hour trying in vain to find them. People who know me probably won't be surprised at this. But woke up with the wildlife around me. This continued when in the morning I drove through the town to see rabbits grazing on the edge of the footpaths.

From Hay in was south west into Victoria to Mildura, and shortly after into South Australia. Entering South Australia you have to go through quarantine and they take any fruit and vegetables off you. The drive across the Murray is very pretty with houseboats aplenty. I didn't stop this time as I was here a few weeks ago and took photos of the big paddle steamer then. After wandering down a fwew roads I took the ferry across the river and stopped in a caravan park at Morgan. South Australia has about seventeen ferries across the Murray. They are government run, operate 24 hours are a day and are free.

A clever play with words in Hay
